Legal & Compliance Lead for Technology, AI and Prompt Engineering

Introduction to the job

As Legal & Compliance Lead for Technology, AI and Prompt Engineering, you will identify, implement and optimize Legal & Compliance Technology solutions.

Role and responsibilities

You will be part of the Legal & Compliance Operations and Strategy Execution Team. You will be responsible for identifying, driving the implementation, and optimizing Legal & Compliance Technology solutions to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and ensure compliance across the organization, with a particular emphasis on leveraging (generative) AI and other innovative technologies.

Additionally, you will play a crucial role in coordinating learnings across the department with respect to the use of these innovative technologies, ensuring that we get the most out of these tools, and contributing to the futureproofing of the skillset of our Legal & Compliance colleagues across the world. This includes upskilling our colleagues in the new field of ‘prompt engineering’. You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Develop and drive the Legal & Compliance Technology and AI roadmap, integrating various technologies to enhance legal operations and compliance processes.
• Lead projects for the selection, implementation, and adoption of Legal & Compliance Tech solutions, including (generative) AI, automation, and data analytics.
• Collaborate both within the Legal & Compliance department and with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technology needs, requirements and opportunities.
• Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on Legal & Compliance Tech tools and systems to ensure successful adoption.
• Coordinate learnings on the use of new and innovative technologies such as generative AI, including as to how to optimally ‘prompt’ our various generative AI tools (prompt engineering).
• Engage with our various technology vendors to ensure embedding of our learnings/feedback and a cost-conscious and practical roadmap.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of legal operations, leveraging insights from technology solutions.
• Stay informed about emerging Legal & Compliance Tech and AI trends and best practices and embed this knowledge into the Legal & Compliance technology roadmap.

Education and experience

You are a seasoned expert, knowledgeable in legal and compliance technology and have gained experience in driving similar projects and programs in corporate settings. You have a strong drive and entrepreneurial mindset, enthusiastic about your field of expertise, acting as an ambassador to leverage the possibilities of technology. You are able to connect, lead and motivate others without hierarchy or authority.

Ideally, you will bring these competences and skills to the table:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in Legal /Law or Management Consulting with a focus on Legal & Compliance Technology.
• Proven track record of leading projects for the selection, implementation, and adoption of Legal & Compliance Technology.
• Strong understanding of legal and compliance processes and regulations.
• Excellent project and change management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives.
• Ability to act as an ambassador for change in a field that is traditionally more on the conservative side when it comes to technology.
• Strong stakeholder management and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
